WrestleMania 33 is just few months away and fans are excited, but before that comes another major WWE event, the Royal Rumble 2017 PPV.

The battle royal style match has 30 wrestlers aiming to eliminate their competitors by tossing them over the top rope, with both feet still touching the floor. The winner is the last man standing and gets the prize of a title championship match at WrestleMania.

Goldberg became the first wrestler to enter the Royal Rumble after defeating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series. According to Jericho, he said that he loved the Goldberg finish. And believed it to be very smart, states Wrestling IncEther John Cena or Chris Jericho is being speculated as the frontrunners to win the Rumble match.

WWE Leaks states Chris Jericho's winning odds have fallen from 8/1 to 5/1 at Paddy Power and 10/1 to 8/1 at Betfair. John Cena has 5/1 odds at Paddy Power to win. Both Jericho and Cena have interesting storylines that WWE is exploiting.

Moreover, Chris Jericho and Kevin Owen's friendship is a major storyline. WWE has recently set up a ruse to tease the fans, in which the duo have been shown blaming each other for Team Raw's loss at Survivor Series.

The storyline of Owen winning with the help of Jericho and then betraying him, or Jericho winning and causing a break in the friendship could tickle fans' interests as they wait for their ultimate face-off in WrestleMania, INQUISITR reports.

Meanwhile, John Cena has been busy with other television projects and in front of him is the Royal Rumble championship, that's his storyline. The situation WWE is playing here is Cena's win at Rumble and The Undertaker defeating AJ Styles for the ultimate "dream match" between Cena and The Undertaker.

Apart from John Cena and Chris Jericho, Finn Balor is another frontrunner to win the Rumble. All these scenarios are being built up by WWE to book a huge pay-per-view card.

Royal Rumble will take place on January 29, 2017 and WrestleMania 33 has been scheduled on April 2, 2017. Stay tuned for more of the WWE rumors and updates.
