Last season, the New Orleans were 30-52 win-loss record to finish 12th in the West. They didn't make it to the playoffs in three of the last four NBA seasons. The only time that they played in the postseason during the Anthony Davis Era was in 2015. But they were swept by the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

This season, it looks like they might not reach the NBA playoffs once again. At 6-12 win-loss record, the Pelicans are 12th in the West. With Jrue Holiday back in the lineup, the Pelicans had a little surge as they won four of their last five games.

Anthony Davis is at the peak of his career now as he is averaging 31.6 points, 2.8 blocks and 10.9 rebounds in 37.2 minutes per game. He is first in scoring and blocks, third in minutes played and seventh in rebounds, as per ESPN.

But because of the Pelicans early struggles, Davis has been involved in a lot of trade rumors. Should the Pelicans let go of Davis or just find him another All-Star caliber teammate to win more games?

According to Inquisitr, Hassan Whiteside could fit well alongside Davis. The suggested trade proposal will send Hassan Whiteside and Dion Waiters to the Pelicans. And in exchange, Omer Asik, Buddy Hield, Terrence Jones and a 2017 first-round draft pick as further discussed by Inquisitr.

The 71st NBA season is still in its early stage. And despite the Pelicans current position in the competitive Western Conference, they could still make a push to reach the playoffs this season.

If Whiteside will play alongside Anthony Davis, they will probably be the best frontcourt duo in the NBA. With the twin towers protected the rim, players from opposing teams will find it hard to score in the paint. Both players are also in the top 10 in rebounds. They could easily dominate the boards which would lead to a lot of second chance points.

They could also be dangerous offensively. Davis is averaging 31.3 points per game while Whiteside is averaging 16.8 points.

Will the pairing of Anthony Davis and Hassan Whiteside be possible? Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
