The New York Knicks believe they can win the championship title this NBA 2016-2017 season. They have managed to surround Carmelo Anthony with good players who will help him bring the Knicks back to contention. But the team from New York struggled earlier this season.

Their president Phil Jackson blamed the limited use of the triangle offense for the problem. Meanwhile, some Knicks players including Anthony expressed that they prefer Hornacek's fast-paced offense.

"We're just playing basketball. We're making adjustments offensively regardless of what we're running," Anthony said and then added that his is getting tired of listening about the Triangle.

After their victory over the Hawks, the New York Knicks scheduled a team meeting. Carmelo Anthony shared that Jackson didn't produce a word in which he believes is good for his team.

According to NBA trade rumors, the recent misunderstanding between Jackson and Anthony become even deeper when "Zen Master" took a shot at LeBron James. Carmelo didn't like his choice of word and defended his co-player. From that moment, there are speculations that Anthony will be leaving the Knicks for the Cavaliers.

There is a possibility that the Cavaliers would use Kevin Love as the trade piece to acquire Anthony. So far, The New York Knicks nor the Cleveland Cavaliers hasn't shown any indication of making that kind of a trade deal. However, Carmelo Anthony joining LeBron James in 2017 is still a possibility.

Last year, LeBron shared his plan to play together with his friends Anthony, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade.

He said, "It would be pretty cool. I've definitely had thoughts about it. I really hope that, before our career is over, we can all play together. At least one, maybe one or two seasons - me, Melo, D-Wade, CP - we can get a year in. I would actually take a pay cut to do that."

As for now, the Cavaliers remain focused on their goal to defend the title this season. However, in case they fail, NBA fans can expect more Carmelo Anthony to Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors to circle around in 2017.
