Anthony Davis is considered as one of the NBA's finest players nowadays. He was the first overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft. In his four years in the league, he averages 20.8 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.4 blocks in 260 games. He was also a 3-time NBA All-Star and an All-NBA First Team in 2015.

But despite experiencing success individually, he failed to carry his team to the playoffs in 3 of his 4 years with the Pelicans. And in his lone playoff experience, he failed to even earn a single victory as they were swept by the Golden State Warriors in 2015.

This season, he was in his best condition as he average 31.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks. He is leading the league in points per game and blocks and was 6th in rebounds, per ESPN. But once again, his dominance can't carry his team to success.

At 4-10 win-loss record, the New Orleans Pelicans are 14th in the Western Conference. They showed some improvement with Jrue Holiday back in the lineup as they are in a 2-game winning streak. But it looks like they will not make the playoffs once again this season.

The latest NBA trade rumors say that Davis is a very talented young player but lack the supporting cast needed for the Pelicans to be competitive. Because of this, speculations arise that the Pelicans are ready to move in a rebuilding phase and trade Davis to other playoff teams.

And according to Inquisitr, Anthony Davis, together with Tim Frazier, might be traded to the Boston Celtics in exchange for rookie sensation Jaylen Brown, Amir Johnson, Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk and 2 first-round draft picks.

If this NBA trade deal will happen, the Celtics will become one of the best teams in the East. Having the backcourt combo of Isaiah Thomas and Avery Bradley plus the twin towers of Al Horford and Anthony Davis commanding the low post, they could challenge the Eastern Conference King Cleveland Cavaliers.

Aside from this, Davis could also be back in the MVP race. Playoff experiences will also help a lot in the growth of Davis as a player. The tandem of Al Horford and Davis in the post will also be very dangerous for opposing teams.

It is time for Davis to move to the Celtics and become a winner? Will this trade materialize? Stay tuned for more NBA trade rumors and updates.
