Generous, large-hearted Angelina Jolie adopted Pax from an orphanage in Vietnam. However, she never paid the customary visits that she had promised.

She picked him up from Tam Binh Orphanage in Vietnam when he was three years old. However, she has not gone back to the orphanage although she had promised: "I'll be back soon."

The home is now on the brink of collapse and clarifies that Angelina never went back there.

The 12-year-old Pax was called Pham Quang Sang at the orphanage. He had been born in November 2003 to a drug addict. She ran away from the hospital without paying and just left her two-day-old son in the care of the hospital.

Since he was adopted and moved to LA, his life completely turned around. Angelina earns £12million per film, which is "equivalent to almost 30,000 years' funding to Tam Binh," says mirror.

In March 2007, worker Nguyen Kim Xuyen in the orphanage was thrilled to be shot with Angelina, 41, when she picked up Pax. She took a picture of herself with the actress and has saved it as a souvenir. She says about Angelina: "Everyone is looking forward to them returning to Tam Binh. We will meet again some day."

Yet she has not even heard from Angelina. When asked about it, Nguyen said: "No, no, never."

The government-funded Tam Binh Orphanage is deteriorating as it has not got any extra donations since Angelina dropped in there. Said Nguyen: "We're a government orphanage, so we always get their support. However, we still need more money to buy food and provide [the orphans] better living conditions. We only get [£43] per month, which is nowhere near enough," she explained.

The star did drop into Vietnam with Pax in 2011, saying: "We owe Vietnam a visit, because Pax is due." However, she could not follow it up.
