The iPhone 6 Plus Touch Disease is finally getting proper attention from Apple, as the company announced an official repair program for this issue.

While some might have hoped it would be free but unfortunately that's not the case. Apple announced that a $149 fee will be levied and then it will take care of certain issues affecting iPhone 6 Plus smartphones. Actually, this is still affordable than Apple's previous $329 service charge.

The company's official statement said that users can pay $149 to fix the issue. Users can only avail this service if their phones still work and don't have a broken or cracked screen, reports TheGuardian.

"If your iPhone 6 Plus is exhibiting the symptoms noted above, is in working order, and the screen is not cracked or broken, Apple will repair your device for a service price of $149," said Apple in the official the announcement.

In a service document the tech giant acknowledges that some iPhone 6 Plus units may experience flickering on their display or some issues with multitouch after several drops on a hard surface, followed by additional "stress," reports TechTimes.

According to the reports, iPhone 6 Plus users have complained of touchscreen not working and mostly a grey line appears at the top of the display. According to IndianExpress, the Touch Disease mostly affects iPhone 6 Plus units, although it's not limited to this model. If your iPhone has been hit by the Touch Disease then the display may start to flicker and you may see a gray bar at the top of the screen now you will be start experiencing the screen unresponsiveness to touch.

The users who are still dealing with the iPhone 6 Plus Touch Disease can now get fix their device for $149 at Apple retail stores and on the authorized service providers.

Apple says that it will cover "iPhone 6 Plus devices for 5 years after the first retail sale of the unit."
