While some series got renewed for another season and episodes to air, fans of other drama television series from HBO remain hopeless because of a mum update until now.

The network's crime drama television series, True Detective and The Night Of, still don't get any words from HBO as of this moment. Fans are eagerly waiting eventhough the rumors about both series' cancellation had constantly been appearing.

According to a report from HBO Binge, just this week, it was announced that science fiction thriller series, Westworld, and comedy series, Divorce, had themselves renewed for another season composing of ten episodes each.

However, Casey Bloys, HBO president of programming, had announced that the news is not as good for the two crime drama series, as per reports. The chief said that the production teams of True Detective and The Night Of have not planned anything yet about the future of the series. But Bloys had mentioned that they are still on the verge of discussion and there is still a slight possibility despite rumors about cancellation.

But it was reported that some fans had been thinking that they'd probably get more of The Night Of compared to True Detective. According to Entertainment Weekly, of the two series, it has been speculated that the former has a slightly higher chance of getting renewed than that of the latter when critical acclaim will serve as a basis. 

It can be recalled that the second season of crime drama series True Detective had been disliked by many critics and viewers compared to its first season. Surely, the production team could bring back doing the scenes that can re-engage the fans but the series' showrunner, Nic Pizzolatto reportedly has an upcoming project which is a bit different from the show, so many had suggested that the network might really cancel it soon.

On the other hand, drama miniseries, The Night Of, had reported to have accepted positively by the viewers so it is more possible for it to get renewed by HBO soon.

However, the network has not released any official statements and updates until now, so fans of both True Detective and Night Of series are just going to have to wait for announcements soon.
