As BioWare is currently developing Mass Effect Andromeda, a lot of fans are also hoping that the studio will finally start working on a sequel to its legendary RPG, Jade Empire. Released in 2005, this action RPG boasted a unique setting that was inspired by Imperial China and gained worldwide popularity from both gamers and critics alike.

Jade Empire now on Android

WhileJade Empire 2 will likely never happen, we can at least enjoy the original game on our Android smartphones and tablets as of today. With that being said, Aspyr Media, the company that's specializing in importing AAA RPGs to mobile platforms, has just recently launched Jade Empire: Special Edition on the Google Play Store.

New additions

In addition to all of the content and characters that are present in Jade Empire and Jade Empire: Limited Edition, Jade Empire: Special Edition will be adding two new martial and weapon styles, as well as an additional transformation style to the game.

Other improvements would include new monsters and enemy types, smarter combat AI at higher difficulty tiers, an improved world map UI, as well as a new playable character: Monk Zheng.

Numerous enhancements

This version of the game will also boast increased graphics resolution, new special effects, and an all-new difficulty level. Jade Empire: Special Edition will also come packed with a New Game Plus Mode which will allow users to start a new playthrough with a character from their previous saved file.

Why Purchase the game

Purchasing Jade Empire: Special Edition for Android from the Google Play Store will cost $9.99. Though the price might let you think twice about purchasing the RPG game, it's also worth pointing out that the game will contain no in-app purchases, will feature a 40-hour campaign and has an amazing replay value. If you still haven't played the beloved original Jade Empire, this will be a perfect opportunity to do so.
