Motorola is not yet done presenting the best discounts on its flagship Moto X smartphone, as the Google-owned mobile maker is offering a free Chromecast streaming dongle with every unsubsidized Moto X smartphone.

Motorola is challenging other smartphone makers with its sudden discount on Moto X smartphone. As part of its New Year offers, Motorola permanently put down its Moto X price to $399, for an off-contract model. The flagship Motorola smartphone beats the off-contract high price tags of Apple iPhone 5S ($649) and Samsung Galaxy S4 ($649). To add more spice to the deal, Motorola is offering a free Google Chromecast wireless video-streaming dongle with every purchase of unsubsidized Moto X smartphone. Unlike the permanent price drop on Moto X, the free Chromecast offer lasts only till Tuesday, January 14.

The new limited period offer aims at pushing more devices in to customers' hands. Survival in the smartphone market is getting tougher by the day. New smartphone makers have entered the race to dominate the industry, while the older players are looking for irresistible offers to retain and attract customers. Motorola is also caught up in the intense competition and the company is determined to survive by all means.

Google-owned Motorola sells the Moto X 16GB variant for $399 and the 32GB model for $449. The free Chromecast can be added to the cart for free with both models, provided the order is placed before Tuesday midnight. Buyers must mandatorily add promo code "STREAM" during checkout for a free dongle. The offer also applies on the Moto Maker edition, which means buyers are free to design their own phone by choosing different color options for back cover, front panel, accent and more. The natural bamboo finish for the Moto X still sells for an extra $100.

With the offer, buyers will be saving $35, which is the price of the dongle if purchased directly from Google.
