The upcoming "Vikings" Season 5 is going to be a must-watch as its midseason finale will present a huge impact on each character's fate. There were already speculations regarding the leading star who played the role of Lagertha, Katheryn Winnick, would come to an end.

Fans are worried about Lagertha

During "Vikings" Season 4 finale, the shield maiden had been seriously stabbed in the chest during their battle on Paris. With that, people immediately jumped into conclusion that Lagertha is going to die on the siege since she also was neither featured on flash-forward nor even mentions on her character's status was heard. In an exclusive interview with Michael Hirst, the Canadian screen awardee did confirm that Winnick's character as Lagertha will not be coming to an end anytime soon.

Lagertha's character stays

"No," Hirst said referring to the rumored death of Lagertha.

"There was a fan in New York who wrote to me years ago and she said, 'I don't' care how many of the male characters you kill off, but if you do anything to Lagertha, you're in trouble.' So I'm very careful about that warning," he added.

In the meantime, Hirst also mentioned that Winnick's character in the historical drama television series is much more important than any other male characters, excluding Ragnar Lothbrok (portrayed by Travis Fimmel). He also claimed that Winnick's character is, by no doubt, the soul of the show.

Lagertha had an amazing journey

With all things said, we can actually see that Lagertha had a really amazing journey. From being a farmer's wife to being betrayed by her husband, to being with a sadistic partner, to have its power, to lose her power which was taken by her men, only to regain it back and become one of the most courageous shield maidens of Vikings.
