"Zero Dark Thirty" actress Jessica Chastain has teamed up with famous photographer Annie Leibovitz for a new "Disney Dream Portrait" shot.
"Out of all the Disney characters, she's probably my favorite, as she takes her destiny in her own hands. That's a modern princess. What are your favorite Disney cartoons? xxjes" Chastain, 36, captioned the photo on her official Facebook page.
Chastain embodies Merida with her long, red, curly locks down to the focused stare on her target. Her portrait is titled, "Where your destiny awaits."
"I definitely see her as a modern princess. She's headstrong, she 's funny, she has great passions," Chastain told Entertainment Tonight portraying Merida. "She's a good role model for little girls."
The Oscar-nominated actress joins the likes of Taylor Swift, Jennifer Hudson, Jack Black, Jason Segal and Russell Brand in "Disney Dream Portrait" series. Swift has taken on the role of Rapunzel, Hudson portrayed Princess Tiana, Brand was the infamous Captain Hook.

"Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Witch (Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late."
