Microsoft did not launch the Surface Pro 5 during last October event, wherein the company showcased the devices like Surface Studio and the Surface Book i7.

Many fans were saddened that the highly anticipated tablet device was a no-show. But the die-hard fans who are waiting for the Surface Book Pro 5 and it is believed that the latest model of the Surface Pro series will be launched in early 2017.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be launching alongside the Surface Book 2. There are also rumors that say it will be released with the all new Surface Phone. On the other hand, these reports must be taken with a grain of salt until Microsoft issue a official statement.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 could have Lenovo's 2-in1 device called Lenovo Mix 720 as one of the rivals. The device is projected to house Kaby Lake Intel's next-generation processor which might come in three models that are the Core i3-7300U, Core i5-7200U, and the Corei7-7500U.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 5 is also rumored to have the Kaby Lake which is expected to be launched in December this year. Some reports say that the new generation chipset is one of the reasons why the release of the anticipated Surface Pro 5 was moved to 2017.

The high end device is rumored to feature a 4K/UHD display with 3860 x 2560 LCD display and 3:2 aspect ratio that is same as of the Surface Pro 3 and 4.

The device will also have a more enhanced Surface Pen which is pressure sensitive than its predecessor, and also it might sport a USB-C port and a fingerprint scanner.

According to iTech Post, the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 will be running on the latest Windows 10 Redstone 2 update that will consist of a 16GB RAM and have a longer battery life that the previous model of Surface Pro. The device may sport a 16MP primary shooter and an 8MP front snapper.

As for price, the basic model of the tablet device is likely to be priced at $899, while the high-end model is rumored to be at around $1800.

Although, the Microsoft yet not given any official statement regarding the release date and specs of the Surface Pro 5.
