NASA revealed Wednesday that it has completed the installation of the huge golden mirror, the final piece of the super powerful telescope, of the $8.7 billion James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) project.

The Stamford Advocate reported that NASA's Goddard space flight center had released a video on YouTube explaining the event.

"The efforts of thousands of people across the United States, Canada, and Europe, for almost two decades achieved this milestone," the narrator of the video reportedly said.

The video mentions that the road was difficult, and that 10 new technologies that did not exist had to be created and perfected to complete the project.

The video reportedly showcased lightweight support structures, sensors, etc.

The report however pointed out that YouTube video has blurred out some important part of the telescope. The Business Insider contacted NASA for the information but the agency declined to reveal the information.

Stamford Advocate reported that the information is an "ITAR [International Traffic in Arms Regulations] issue."

The James Webb Space Telescope is almost three stories high and up to a tennis court's size. It has to be folded to fit into a rocket. The telescope reportedly came with an $8.8 billion price tag, reports the Inquistr.

Inquistr added that the mirror of the telescope consists of 18 hexagonal mirrors which resembles a huge puzzle piece in a massive clean room.

The mirrors will reportedly be vital to solve the mysteries of the universe.

The James Webb Space Telescope, which will succeed the Hubble Telescope, is reportedly meant to capture high resolution images of galaxies and could give us a new glimpse of distant planets and new information too.
