As Northeasterners bundled up against record-breaking cold temperatures this week, one celebrity, Alexander Skarsgard, seemed unfazed by the polar vortex.

In a picture posted on Instagram, the "True Blood" star is naked and reading a book while sitting on a toilet in Antarctica. Skarsgard appears cool and collected while surrounded by nothing but snow and blue sky.

The picture was posted Tuesday by Inge Solheim, the leader of Skarsgard's team during a Walking With the Wounded Challenge, a United Kingdom-based organization that shows support for those who serve their country, E! News reported.

"#southpole -30C What are you reading Alex?" Solheim wrote in the picture's caption. "The script for season 7 of #truebloodHBO?"

The 6-foot-4 Swedish actor appeared naked in a similar situation during the "True Blood" season six finale in August 2013. In the last few minutes of the episode, titled "Radioactive," Skarsgard is again naked, relaxing and reading on a chair surrounded by snow.

Fans of the show were shocked when the vampire Eric, Skarsgard's character, stood up from the chair as he was set on fire from the sun, briefly exposing his penis to the camera.

"It was never written to have him full frontal," Stephen Moyer, who plays the vampire Bill on "True Blood," told E! News in September 2013. "Alex doesn't like wearing his 'sock' or the 'sack of destiny' as we call it. It's the sack of destiny that covers everything."

Moyer went on to say that Skarsgard was the one who decided not to be covered up.

"He doesn't like wearing those, so he had one in his room that day, [but] he was the one who chose not to wear it," Moyer told E! News.

According to E! News, Skarsgard told Conan O'Brien in June 2013 that he has his family to thank for his nudist ways.

"My dad and his side of the family are old hippies," he said. "I was 14 the first time I saw my dad wearing pants. He was always naked."
