WhatsApp has 1 Billion monthly active users and that is a huge number. The app users were waiting for the video call feature since long and they may finally receive what they have been anticipating for the app to support the video calls.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging clients globally bought by Facebook mastermind Mark Zuckerberg for $19 billion. Since then, there were many changes in the app. With a ton of users using the site daily, even the slightest change is bound to be spotted easily, reports TechTimes.

Android Police noticed that a new video call feature has been slowly popping up for some users. Availability seems to be at random, as some users can access the feature even without updating it, because they have the recent beta versions installed.

Though the company hasn't begun advertising about this feature yet, new beta versions of its Android app come with the ability to make video calls. If both the WhatsApp user are on the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android then, users will see both the Video Call and Voice Call options when they press the dialler button on top right of app.

Earlier this month, some Windows Phone users reported that they had received the video calling feature on WhatsApp. Now that WhatsApp has started to exude video calling ability on Android's beta apps, it seems likely that its iOS and stable Android versions will follow the suit soon, Mashable reported.

For making a video call, one will have to tap the dialler icon and then, get an option to either make a WhatsApp voice call or video call. It should be noted that this feature will work only when the caller and the recipient both are part of the Android beta testing program.

WhatsApp introduced video call feature but what about iOS? WhatsApp hasn't forgotten about its iPhone users. There is no word exactly on when the feature will come to iPhones. It also seems like WhatsApp is prioritizing Android.

There is no official word from the WhatsApp has been issued yet regarding this feature and there's still no definite timeframe for when all Android devices will be receiving the feature.
