When Google announced its new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones, the handsets were both rated as having the best smartphone camera. But now some Pixel users air several drawbacks in Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

For your informed decision, below is the drawback of Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

Users reported of lens flare effect in the images. Google has acknowledged the issue and said that they are software fixing it.

Other is the high price issue. Smaller Google Pixel come at $650 for the 32 GB model and go up to $749 for the 128 GB version. The larger Pixel XL comes at $769 for the 32 GB variant and $869 for the 128 GB model. But as we compare it to iPhone 7, Google Pixels perfectly match the MSRP of the equivalent iPhone 7 variants.

Google flagship phones are also no wireless charging capabilities. While the new Google Pixel and Pixel XL support fast charging, they don't support any kind of wireless charging.

When we talk about design and sizes, Pixel and Pixel XL do not have very good looking design as their top and bottom bezels are huge but serve no function.

The latest Pixel and Pixel XL sport meager IP53 ratings, meaning they can withstand contact with some solids but they'd best avoid any liquid. There's no guarantee that the handset will survive a heavy rain or a more consistent bath. So there is no water resistant feature in both the phones..

According to a review, the displays of Pixel and Pixel XL are sharp bright but there is not Class Leading. Neither Pixel can challenge the dazzling levels of brightness from Samsung's AMOLED Galaxy S7 range nor are they quite as color accurate as Apple.

Google Pixel and Pixel XL only have one speaker, and it is not better located. After the cool front speakers on the Nexus 6 from 2014 and Nexus 6P from 2015, having just one speaker on the latest Pixels seem an injustice.

Another common problem  is overheating. You may find that your new Pixel is getting a tad too hot at certain times.

Other potential drawback of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL include no expandable storage, semi-glass back, and non-removable battery.

At last, let's not forget this is a Google phone and it will come with its own risk. The Google Assistant is also a privacy pitfall. All requests to Assistant are sent to Google's servers. So in that sense your privacy is in trouble with Pixel and Pixel XL.
