AMD has unveiled Vega GPU architecture that will be caring the name RX 490. The graphics card's release date is still not sure, it depends on the type of GPU that will be used on RX 490. That is the all new GCN architecture or the current Polaris GPU.

According to a leak by Videocardz, the AMD RX 490 will be having Vega 10 i.e. AMD's high-end graphics processing unit (GPU). The card will also have 4,096 processor cores, 256 texture mapping units, and 64 render output units.

The AMD RX 490 will have second-generation high bandwidth memory that will have RAM of 8,196 MB storage capacity. The card will feature a 1,200 MHz base clock and a 350 MHz memory clock, reports University Herald.

RX device is powered by a processing power of more than 1.5TFLOPs that is having ability to accelerate up to 60 frames per second at 1080p in popular titles like "DOTA 2" and "LOL."

In addition to this, the number '4' refers to the fourth generation GCN architecture. This seems to indicate that the Radeon RX 480 may still be Polaris-based after all and the '9' refers to the ninth tier of gaming.

That means it targets a memory bus of more than 256 bits focused on 4K gaming. This further suggests that the upcoming RX 490 can deliver powerful features for a decent gaming experience at the highest possible resolution.

The latest card from AMD will run at a TDP of 150W and the Polaris 10 chip will run on its own rate at 110W TDP. If all these specs will prove true, then the Radeon RX 490 will be more powerful than both the GeForce GTX 1080 and Titan X.

For now, it is not clear about AMD's plans for Radeon RX 490, so, the gamers will have to be patient and wait for the company's official word. Meanwhile, Wccftech reported that AMD is planning to release revisions of the RX 400 graphics cards early next year, there RX 490 could be released.
