The New York Knicks have a disappointing opening game loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The lineup of Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose, Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah failed to give a good fight against the defending champs. The 29-point blowout 117-88 humiliated them.

With the loss, many believe that Anthony, Rose, Porzingis and Noah will not work throughout the season. The team must do something about it by shaking up their roster. And now, rumors are spreading that the Knicks are considering to trade 'Melo to the Boston Celtics.

According to The Inquisitr, last February, the Celtics tried to make a deal to the Knicks to acquire Anthony but he prevented the proposed deal saying that he's not ready to transfer to the Celtics and wants to stay as a Knick. But with this all happening to the team, will Melo consider the deal that was discussed eight months ago?

Trade scenario suggests that the Knicks will send 'Melo to the Celtics in exchange for forwards Jae Crowder, Amir Johnson, Jonas Jerebko and a 2019 first-round pick. And as per checking on ESPN NBA Trade Machine, this deal is a legal trade and follows the NBA trade rules and policy.

The report also says that this could be another big pick up for the Celtics by adding another superstar to their fold following the acquisition of Al Harford during the offseason. However, it will also remove depth on their two positions - the small and power forwards. But for Celtics, the immediate solution is to shuffle some of the players to fill in the gap left by the three players in order to make way for Anthony's arrival as per stated in the report.

On the separate report by Parent Herald, the acquisition of Anthony would give assurance to Horford to stay to the Celtics and surround him an elite talent like 'Melo. They could also build a "Big Three" with 'Melo, Horford and Isaiah Thomas, if the trade pushes through.

Nevertheless, the deal is still speculative and no comments from the teams involved were released.
