The upcoming Season 2 installment of Attack on Titan is rumored to be set in a different direction which is completely unrelated to the original manga storyline. This implies that the up and coming series is not going to follow the original manga that fans have already read on.

It has been a known tradition that most animes will not debut until a new storyline has already been added to the manga, so this would ultimately be a first for the hit Japanese anime & manga series.

Will it be 3 storylines or just 2?

Attack on Titan Season 2 is getting a lot of beef lately, even though the producers of the hit anime series has not issued any announcements regarding the official release date just yet. This has left puzzled fans speculating about the issue of the upcoming season's story arc.

Rumors have spread that Hajime Isayama currently has three new storylines that are being suggested to be enough to entirely cover Attack on Titan Season 2. However, some fans and anime theorists also speculate that it would only take two story arcs to fully cover the up and coming season.

These two story arcs are reportedly being called the "Clash of the Titans" arc and "the Uprising" arc, as reports indicate.

Premiere and more stories to expect

The former story arc is reported to have 15 chapters while the latter has the most chapter with 36. Despite all the chatter and talks, Attack on Titan Season 2 is heavily suggested to just continue with where the first season left.

To recall, Annie Leonhart was all covered in crystal during the first season finale, while Eren and Mikasa confirmed that it was indeed her. The up and coming Attack On Titan Season 2 is anticipated to finally air at some point in April 2017. Along with that, Tetsuro Araki is going to return as the director of the series.
