Fossil's last year acquisition will be finally making a splash. The smart home group Misfit introduces a new lifestyle-affiliated item.

Ever since getting a fresh start, the wearable-focused company has lined up an array of newly-minted fitness trackers which included the Stylish Ray and the Shine 2. This time, both production and promotion are aimed at time pieces.

Misfit comes up with its full-on accessory in the Phase hybrid smartwatch which integrates the tracking device with essential time features. Considering the exquisite design of the product, it easily surpasses the previous items manufactured by the Fossil-affiliate organization.

The Phase smartwatch is flexible enough to be accessorized with different straps. Both silicon and leather bands can be utilized to make its look fashionable. It also has an aluminum and stainless steel case.

Misfit has designed its watch to present a simple outlook. Judging from the prominence of small metallic slants in the numbers, the hand and the thin ring around its face, the item portrays a minimalist image.

Compared to other Fossil hybrid time pieces, the Phase does not possess a bling nor does it have those large digits or Roman numbers. Although Misfit has been able to incorporate the Fossil approach in producing watches, it has been able to tone down the style with regards to the Phase smartwatch.

One unique feature of the Misfit product is the absence of a touchscreen display. Although the analog style is adopted, wrist notifications through the hands, the small colored window proximal to the six o'clock position and vibration functions are embedded into the smartwatch.

With a six-month battery sustainability, the Phase does not induce the feel of a regular time piece.

Misfit calls the strap of their products as 'field band' which, unlike traditional watches, has a couple of snap buttons on each side that attach to the case.

Aside from naturally tracking health and wellness components like calories, distance and sleep, the Phase also provides call and text notifications including customized alarm options.

Misfit also provides its smartwatch with a link system that will remotely activate smartphone cameras, manage music playbacks and operate smart home units.
