In 2014, Harrison Ford injury made the headlines as the actor was almost killed during the filming of Star Wars: Episode 7 "The Force Awakens".

The actor was filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire.

The veteran actor who played as Han Solo during the first Star Wars trilogy was reprising his role when he got involved in an accident.

Apparently, the actor was smashed by a closing metal door in the Millennium Falcon. The 74-year-old-actor was later airlifted to the nearest hospital for surgery.

Prosecutor Andrew Marshall said that Harrison Ford was smashed in the pelvic area by a metal door manipulated by a crew. Marshall said that there was definitely a great chance of death given the severity of the accident.

The force of the closing metal door was similar to the weight of a small car, HSE said.

Fortunately, an emergency stop was activated. Otherwise, Harrison Ford injury would be worse. The actor could have died in the set of Star Wars: Episode 7 "The Force Awakens".

The actor suffered injuries including a broken left leg.

A Disney owned company, Foodles Production (UK) Ltd., pleaded guilty on two criminal charges filed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). The firm knew that there was some lapse on their side as they failed to communicate to the actor the risks involved.

Foodles deeply regretted the Harrison Ford injury that they were caught in.

As a response to the accident, Foodles implemented urgent additional safety protocols to the set of Star Wars: Episode 7 "The Force Awakens".

Foodles Production (UK) Ltd. was fined for a total of £1.6 million or $2 million.

Harrison Ford, on the other hand, is also rumored to be coming back for Star Wars: Episode 8. Hopefully, there are no more Harrison Ford injury in the much awaited sequel.
