In a tragic incident, a 22 year old broken-hearted man from Turkey committed suicide live on Facebook after his girlfriend allegedly cheated him.

The video was streamed live on Monday (Oct. 10) by Erdogan Ceren, 22, from Duzici in the Osmaniye province, Turkey.

Reportedly, the heartbroken man gave a message to his girlfriend that he cannot live without her before killing himself live on Facebook.

In the shocking footage, Erdogan Ceren holds a shotgun to his chest while addressing the camera and, after one failed attempt, ends his life, reported DailyMail.

At the start of the video, Ceren says "no one believed it when I said I will kill myself - so watch this" as he pulls a shotgun into view. He told viewers that he planned to commit suicide because his girlfriend had broken up with him.

The young man is shirtless at what appears to be his bedroom as he presses the gun to his chest. The first attempt fails as the shotgun was lock but the second attempt ended his life.

Around 37 seconds into the four minute clip, the young man readjusts the camera, takes aim and fires.

The boy had shared a poem he had written to his girlfriend before the incident, saying: "Our love was going to be a saga, our eyes were not going to shed tears, now tell me love, are you leaving, will my hands burn without you."

The heartbreaking video has since been viewed 543,000 times and attracted 14,000 comments.

One social media user watching the livestream desperately pleaded, "Don't do it, for the love of god!"

Meanwhile, the Turkish police had launched an investigation into the incident.
