Despite numerous speculations about a "Blade 4" sequel, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said the company definitely has to release the latest installment of the vampire hunter series, but it may not happen soon.

Feige said that Marvel Studios is planning to continue the "Blade Trilogy," which has been a successful franchise. However, according to a report by Cinema Blend, conversations about the movie have been greatly exaggerated.

"...we'll do something with Blade at some point," he said. "That's still the answer. We think he's a great character, a really fun character."

The rumor began after Kate Beckinsale's remarks at the New York Comic-Con earlier this month as reported by  /FILM . She appeared in the event to promote her movie "Underworld: Blood Wars," when someone asked her about the possibility that her character in the "Underworld" movie franchise, Selene and Blade, will come together in the same movie. She replied that she doesn't know anything about it.

Afterwards, many speculations arose that Marvel has already prepared the latest Blade installemt, made famous by Wesley Snipes who played the main character - the half-vampire and vampire hunter Blade.

Wesley Snipes was also reported to have met with Marvel Studios to reprise his iconic role, according to Movie Web. There is also another possibility that Blade will come as a titular character, with his daughter featuring as the main character in the movie - tasked to take care of his father's business in hunting vampires.

The first "Blade" movie was released in 1998, starring Snipes and Kris Kristofferson as Eric Brooks. Blade, a human with vampire blood, was infected when his mother was bitten by a vampire while in labor with him inside. Eric was trained by Abraham Whistler, a former vampire hunter and weapons expert. Both Snipes and Kristofferson appeared in all three Blade movies.

As Marvel is busy with five upcoming movies scheduled to release soon, it seems that "Blade 4" remains in the waiting list of Marvel Studios' projects.
