Google's Android 7.0 Nougat is currently throughout all smartphone manufacturing companies. Companies are reported to be feeding in the Nougat OS, but only within the announced list of devices. OnePlus One was released more than two years ago and reports claim that it is unlikely to receive Android 7.0 Nougat update officially.

But according to IB Times, it is reported that the XDA Developer forum have developed a Android 7.0 Nougat based CyanogenMod CM 14 series custom ROM. This development is said to be able to feed in the latest Android 7.0 Nougat in the OnePlus One (aka Bacon) model smartphone.

The reports also indicates that the new development from XDA Developer forum  has new features like short-cuts for most-used apps, improved battery, increased performance, visually-appealing themes, wallpapers, and many others. Reports also say that users have to carry out the procedure of installing the custom-based ROM by a person with sound knowledge of rooting or installing software manually on Android devices.

A note of caution is also mentioned in the reports, saying "This software is an experimental version and contains some bugs in it, which might affect some functionalities of the device and If the step-by-step installation process is not followed properly, there are chances of the smartphone getting bricked or being permanently irreparable"

The International Business Times posted a step-by-step procedure on the custom-based ROM Android Nougat installation, with clear warnings and cautions before heading towards it. it specifies that "IBTimes India cannot be held responsible for any damage or claims from readers if the procedure does not yield the required results or if the smartphone is bricked. Hence, users are advised to proceed with caution"

To proceed with the custom based installation, users must follow the needed prerequisites before installing Custom ROM, as well as the step-by-step installation procedure of Android 7.0 Nougat CyanogenMod CM 14 custom ROM on OnePlus One (aka Bacon) model through the TWRP recovery method.
