Despite losing to the first round in the hands of the Portland Trailblazers in the 2016 NBA Playoffs, Los Angeles Clippers is still considered as one of the powerhouse teams in the Western Conference. One of the team's star player, Blake Griffin, is involved with a lot of trade rumors this offseason. The latest rumor about Blake Griffin is a trade with the New York Knicks for Kristaps Porzingis.

According to Sportsrageous, Blake Griffin might be traded for New York Knicks in exchange for Kristaps Porzingis and veteran center Joakim Noah.

Blake Griffin will be a free agent after the 2016-2017 NBA season. Because of this, the possibility of losing him for nothing has allowed speculations that the Clippers will trade the All-Star forward before the season ends.

In the recent offseason, the Oklahoma City Thunder lose their long-time franchise player Kevin Durant when he choose to sign with the Golden State Warriors instead of re-signing with the Thunder. OKC ended up with nothing in return for Durant. Clippers could also face with the same scenario.

Drafted as the 1st overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, Blake Griffin instantly became a superstar. He became the 2011 NBA Slam Dunk Champion, 2011 Rookie of the Year and was selected to 5 NBA All-Star appearance. Last season with the Clippers, he average 21.4 points, 8.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 35 regular season games, per wikipedia.

Even with an injury-plagued year last season, Griffin is still among the elite players in the NBA. And New York Knicks might be interested to have another star on their roster. Mixing Griffin with Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose makes them a very powerful trio. And they could possibly have a deep playoff run.

On the other hand, Kristaps Porzingis is a young talent who could be a potential All-Star in the league. Last season, he average 14.3 points. 7.3 rebound and 1.9 blocks in 72 games. This is enough for Porzingis to earn three Eastern Conference of the Month. He is also second in 2016 NBA Rookie of the Year voting behind Minnesota Timberwolves' Karl-Anthony Towns.

Inquisitr said that this trade rumor is impossible to happen based on NBA trade and salary cap rules. Blake Griffin is making more money than Kristaps Porzingis. Therefore, this trade seems impossible to happen.
