Houston Rockets' offense was a roaring success against New York Knicks last Tuesday night in a 130-103 win during NBA preseason game.

James Harden powered Rockets with 28 points, shaming defenders who closed out too late and when barricaded, passed the ball to some eager shooters. Ryan Anderson, on the other hand, took defenders off the dribble to the basket to draw fouls.

As per ESPN, the offense strategy of Rockets is vital considering Knicks has the new point guard (Derrick Rose), center (Joakim Noah), and also a coach (Jeff Hornacek). Rockets' second NBA preseason game also marked a whopping 42 3-pointers of the team.

"It's way early but we can see we've got a lot of firepower, a lot of guys that can score. We just have to keep the mentality that 'Yeah, we can score,' and we're going to score and we may do it in bunches, but we can't take it for granted that we just got to score," said Rockets coach Mike D' Antoni.

For Harden, however, it was Rockets' defense that stunned Knicks. Aside from the teams' perfect shots, it was vital that the Rockets blocked out Knicks shooters.

"Just for the first quarter we held them to 15 points,t hat's why we're able to get off to a big lead," Harden said. The team player added, "We both know we can score, but defensively we just got to be solid for four quarters and we will, it's just a learning experience for us."

Being outrun by Rockets offense, Knicks coach Hornacek vowed to speed up his players' triangle offense. This would feature more pick-and-roll plays that fans have previously seen from Knicks' previous coach Phil Jackson.

As per NBA.com, as cited by ESPN, many players silently bemoaned the fact the Knicks' offense lacked penetration and was too predictive. It seems, however, that players are excited about the possibility of adding more pick-and-roll plays in Knicks's offense strategy. Fans are hopeful that they could see this soon with Knicks next game with Brooklyn Nets on Saturday

Meanwhile, Miami Heat is reportedly doing their practice routines at Houston Rocket's facility following threats of Hurricane Matthew to South Florida. With Rockets currently on a preseason tour in China for the upcoming face-off with New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday, Heat opted to take refuge in Houston. Heat will face Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.
