Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson teased fans on New Year's Day hinting that he could be starring in the upcoming "Batman Vs. Superman" movie. Johnson confirmed on Twitter that he has been in talks with Warner Bros. and DC Comics about a 2014 project but didn't say which one it was, Metro reports.

"We just had a big meeting w/Warner Bros CEO re: @DCComics 2014 we will partner up and create the cool bad assery. #RockTalk @ActionTilson."

There has been several rumors that Johnson would be in a DC Comics movie but not necessarily the sequel to "Man of Steel." It's been speculated for a while now that he would play Black Adam and Lobo. According to Comicbooks.com, rumors died down about The Rock playing Black Adam when it was indicted that the "Shazam" movie wasn't going to happen because of the success of "Man of Steel."

Warner Bros. felt the character was too much like Superman and didn't want the two movies competing with each other. As far as Lobo, it has also been speculated that that project was also shelved for the same reason.

Now, there's speculation that Johnson could either be playing Lex Luthor or Doomsday in the new "Batman Vs. Superman" movie. It was previously rumored that Jason Momoa, from the "Game of Thrones," was up for the role of Doomsday and Idris Elba and Denzel Washington were being considered to play Lex Luthor.

Sources told Thinkmcflythink.com, that both Washington and Elba were approached by Warner Bros. about the role. The source also said that "a certain re-occurring [African-American] cast member from 'Arrow' is in talks to play Lex."

Australian actor Callan Mulvey's ("Zero Dark Thirty") name has also come up in casting rumors to play Metallo.
