Star Wars: Episode VIII is still more than a year away before it hits the cinemas. For now, let us do a rundown on what we should expect in the new Star Wars movie.

There were a lot of new characters introduced in "Star Wars: Episode VII The Force Awakens" namely Rey (Daisy Ridley), Kylo Ren or Ben Solo (Adam Driver) and Finn (John Boyega).

"The Force Awakens" did not discuss much about the real deal with these characters.

Which is not surprising since the Star Wars movies have always had the knack for mysterious family connections. Remember the surprise that Leia and Luke are actually twins of Anakin Skywalker a.k.a. Darth Vader?

Some questions you might be asking yourself after "The Force Awakens" include:

Why is the force strong with Rey? Who are her parents? Why did they leave her alone in an unsafe planet?

Fans are continually baffled with Rey's real parentage. But the fact that the Force is strong with Rey, narrows down the choices.

A lot are speculating that Rey's real parents must be Han Solo and Leia Organa. This is considering Rey and Han Solo share a peculiar connection when it comes to the Millennium Falcon.

It is also speculated that Rey and Kylo Ren a.k.a. Ben Solo are actually twins of the estranged couple.

While it is also equally possible that Rey's real father is Luke Skywalker.

This is because of the fact that the latter's light saber called out to Rey. Rey's sleeping Jedi abilities can only mean that her real father may be a real Jedi.

"The Force Awakens" producer and writer, J.J. Abrams, revealed that Rey's real parents are not in the Episode VII movie. If this will be considered, Luke Skywalker, Han Solo and Leia Organa are out of the choices.

This revelation just makes the theory that Rey is actually Obi-Wan Kenobi's daughter more possible.

Will we finally know who Rey's real parents are in Star Wars 8?

Star Wars: Episode VIII will hit cinemas on December 15, 2017.
