After undertaking a 22-day vegan diet challenge, Jay Z and Beyoncé are back to their regular meals, having ended the diet with seafood feasts in Georgia and Miami, E! News reports.

Vegan diets are free of meat and animal all products, including eggs, milk and often honey. Many people choose to go vegan out of protest for how livestock and other animals are treated in the food industry. The famous couple, however, seemed to be undertaking the challenge purely for health reasons, as the rapper preferred to call it "plant based." Jay Z announced the diet he and his wife would tackle on his Life + Times blog on Dec. 3, just one day before his 44th birthday.

Over the course of the challenge, Beyoncé made headlines when she was photographed just days into the diet wearing a fur-lined jacket into a popular vegan restaurant in L.A., causing many to criticize the singer over her offensive fashion faux-pas.

Nonetheless, the "Drunk in Love" collaboraters pressed on, and according to the New York Post's Page Six, completed their challenge with a celebratory meal at Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen in Norcross, Ga. over the weekend, before heading further south to eat at Seasalt and Pepper in Miami on Sunday, Dec. 29, where they dined on pappardelle, lobster risotto and seafood casserole prepared specially by chef Alfredo Alvarez.

While at the Miami restaurant, the pair bumped into Gloria Estefan and her family at the restaurant, the "Conga" sister tweeting a photo of her and her family together with Bey and Jay along with the caption, "Ran into the incredible @Beyonce & @Jay-Z post Dolphin game @ Sea Salt on the Miami River, sweet, Em was catatonic!"
