Good news for tech savvies! Google will unveil another set of its in-house designs that will surely take the technological experience of its users towards a whole new level. The company is reportedly hosting a launching event set this October 4.

As per the report of Android Police, Google is planning to announce its new products in this major event. These said products include its new Pixel-branded smartphones Pixel and Pixel XL, its VR headset called Daydream VR, a smart router called Google Home, and also its upgraded 4K stream machine Chromecast Ultra.

Ahead of its October launch, however, a photo of Chromecast Ultra dongle was leaked online by Evan Blass. As evident in the said photo, Chromecast Ultra highly resembles predecessor Chromecast 2 with its disc-shaped form factor. It also has a short HDMI cable that latches on the back of the Ultra using magnets.

What sets Chromecast Ultra different from its predecessor, as per the report of Tech Times, is that it is loaded with a more powerful hardware and features 4k Ultra HD streaming. Likewise, it will run firmware version 1.21. As such, it will cost twice the price of the Chromecast2 which will be $69.

The media outlet further noted that with Chromecast Ultra coming with a 4K streaming functionality, this means that Google is heading further forward from its competitors like the Amazon Fire TV Stick, Roku Stick, and the fourth generation Apple TV.

In another note, Google first released the Chromecast in 2013 which lets users cast content onto a television, even in non-smart television models, via the Chromecast dongle. Its second generation, Chromecast 2, came out in 2015 with an updated Chromecast app that can be paired with the dongle to push content from a smartphone.

Moreover, other features of the much-awaited Chromecast Ultra are yet to be revealed on the fourth of October. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
