The second couple of "Dancing with the Stars" Season 23 was eliminated on Tuesday based on the scores of the judges and the votes of the audience.

After host Tom Bergeron announced the elimination of Rick Perry and Emma Slater, Perry remarked: "I did this for all the veterans out there, and I hope everyone will go out there and find a group to support those guys."

"Dancing with the Stars" Season 3 pitted the contestants against one another in head-to-head challenges, with winners going away with immunities.

The Wrap reported that the couples that were saved from the elimination after Monday night's performances were James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess, Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev, Jana Karmer and Gleb Savchencko, Calvin Johnson Jr. and Lindsay Arnold, Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Vanilla Ice and Witney Carson.

With this development, Ryan Lochte, Amber Rose, Marilu Henner, Terra Jole, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds were the celebrities on the chopping block Tuesday.

The couples who were revealed to be safe and were saved by the votes from the audience were Babyface and Alison Holker, Henner and Derek Hough, and Cheryl Burke and Ryan Lochte.

According to Business International Times, many thought the pair were going home in week 2 and were not surprised to see them on the cutting block once more until they were eliminated.

Perry has been scoring low in the season to-date. On his performance last Monday, he took a beating from the judges over a stiff paso doble which was later considered second-rate to that of Vanilla Ice who was awarded the immunity.

"Dancing with the Stars" Season 3 airs Monday and Tuesday on ABC and would still bring excitement as viewers are looking forward for the next couple who will cut from the competition.
