Since 'Bates Motel' successfully wrapped up Season 4 this year by putting an end to the role of Norma Bates, the anticipation for the approaching season has kept its fans on their toes, consequently, rendering enthusiasm and excitement at its pinnacle.

And now according to Cinema Blend, the 10 episode Season 5 will be hitting the screens soon and will put a seal on the mystery filled series. The announcement was made by the show's executive producer Carlton Cuse and Kerry Ehrin during the show's panel at San Diego Comic Con, reports Variety.

Following the foreseeable plot of Alfred Hitchcock's classic thriller 'Psycho', it is reasoned that the forthcoming season will not be afraid to make conspicuous alterations that are totally different to 'Psycho', thus, modifying the entire structure of the spine-chilling drama series.

Other than that, fans will also witness the new faces such as Isabelle McNally from House of Cards as Madeline Loomis, Rihanna as Marion Crane and Brooke Smith, who are all gearing up to challenge their knacks in the fifth season.

Executive producers of the show have already highlighted that they are all set to ease up the storyline and move away from the foretold theme, which is why the focus will be on Norman (Freddie Highmore). The episodes will shed light to his acknowledgment with insanity and his happenstance with Marion, as predicted in 'Psycho', but it does not mean that the show makers are planning to echo the settings.

As exec producer Carlton Cuse previously mentioned it to TVLine, "We wanted the final season to allow us to do our [spin] of the Psycho lore. We will be colliding with certain events in the narrative of the film, but it would be boring to just recreate Psycho."

The show will welcome a doppelgänger of Norma Bates. Madeleine Loomis bears a striking resemblance to a young Norma, but her exact task in the series is yet to be disclosed. However, it is believed that she is "a warm and kind hearted woman".

As per 'Psycho' fans, Loomis is also said to be the last name of Marion's boyfriend, Sam in the original marvel. Ardent fans of the classic are still wondering and questioning the association between Madeline and Sam, which is yet to be unveiled in the forthcoming series.

It is also guessed that Madeleine could be Sam's wife and Marion his mistress. Various reports have also teased that Madeleine might be stabbed to death by Norman because of her resemblance with to mother.

On the other hand, it has been revealed that Smith has been taken in to play Sheriff Dana Green, who will be seen replacing Alex Romero as the head of Police. She is described to be "competent, professional, moralistic and sharp".

'Bates Motel' Season 5 is slated to air in 2017 on A&E.
