Season 6 of the American based political thriller is gearing up for its premiere episode in the winter of 2017.

Probably strengthening the existing theme, the impending series will witness an enhanced cast and how Carrie Mathison has returned to her soil after putting her character into play back in Berlin.

The series will focus on Carrie's role as a helper of Muslims living in the United States. The series is also said to highlight the aspect of presidential elections. The Iran nuclear deal will be showcased as a new side in the series.

Alex Gansa, the show producer maintained, "We talked a lot about the Iran nuclear deal because a lot of that business gets conducted in New York City in terms of the sanctions and banking."

"That's a fairly big part of the show," he hinted.

The official synopsis by Indie Wire highlights, "Season six picks up several months later and finds Carrie Mathison back on American soil, living in Brooklyn, New York. She has begun working at a foundation whose efforts are to provide aid to Muslims living in the U.S. Season 6 will tackle the after-effects of the U.S. presidential election, with the entire season taking place between election day and the inauguration."

The cast is exceptional and gradually going up. Fans will see "House of Cards" Elizabeth Marvel who will be playing the role of future president Elizabeth Keane while "Prison Break" marvel Robert Knepper will reprise his role as General Jamie McClendon, representing the Department of Defense.

Moreover, Dominic Fermusa, the "Nursie Jackie" star, will be seen accompanying Carrie and Peter recurring himself as the FBI Special Agent Ray Conlin.

Carrie's team will be a stretched one as she will allow a new partner to work alongside her in the process of serving Muslims. The role will be played by Patrick Sabongui, a law professor who seems enthusiastic in supporting Muslims and advocating for their rights.

Homeland is set to hit the screens on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 9pm on Showtime.
