Beyoncé recorded a massive 80 songs for her self-titled visual album, but explained in her behind-the-scenes documentary series on YouTube why only 14 of those songs made it onto her album.

"When I started picking the songs that I gravitated towards - because I recorded about 80 songs - it was the songs that were more effortless for me that stuck around," Beyoncé revealed in part three of her documentary.

"Drunk In Love" was one of the singer's "effortless" songs. Beyoncé describes working with a new music producer named Details, who played the song for her. The singer was immediately drawn to the track and free-styled some of her verses. Her husband Jay Z had his turn to record and it came easily for him as well.

When it was time for the video Beyoncé wanted to continue the spontaneity. The couple decided to film "Drunk in Love" two days before the shoot.

"I wish every video was like 'Drunk'," Beyoncé admitted in the documentary.

In part one of the behind-the-scenes series, Beyoncé revealed her goal was always to release new music in a refreshing way. The singer was never striving for perfection and wanted to rebel against it.

"I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it. I am bored with that. I feel like I am able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans. I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and from me to my fans," Beyoncé explained in the documentary.

"I see music," Beyoncé added. "It's more than just what I hear. When I'm connected to something, I immediately see a visual or a series of images that are tied to a feeling or an emotion, a memory from my childhood, thoughts about life, my dreams or my fantasies. And they're all connected to the music."
