Cast members Betty Gilpin and Virginia Madsen officially reprise their roles as their characters' love story will be tackled more in "Elementary" Season 5. In addition to that, the premiere episode plot has been revealed by CBS Network.

Cast member Betty Gilpin officially returns in "Elementary" Season 5. According to Ecumenical News, the 29-year-old American actress will reprise her role as Fiona Helbron. Gilpin's character will reappear after the first few episodes of the show. She is described as a genius and introvert software engineer.

Fiona happens to be Sherlock's love interest. The two met during a murder investigation.

International Business Times has reported that Virginia Madsen will reprise her role as Paige. Paige happens to be Captain Thomas Gregson's (Aidan Quinn) lover.

The 55-year-old American actress and producer will reappear in Episode 3. Madsen first appeared in Season 4 Episode 15, "Up to Heaven and Down to Hell". It is the episode where it was revealed that Gregson and Paige are already dating for a year now.

As for the official plot synopsis of Episode 1, TV Guide notes, the season begins with Sherlock Holmes (Jonny Lee Miller) and Dr. Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) joining the NYPD manhunt for a serial bomber who is active again after being dormant for six years.

During the investigation, Watson seeks help from a former criminal, Shinwell Johnson (Nelson Ellis), whose life she saved when she was a surgeon."

"Elementary" Season 5 Episode 1 is entitled as "Folie a Deux". The upcoming episode is scheduled to air on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 10:00 p.m. first and exclusive on CBS Network.

"Elementary" is an American procedural drama series that presents a contemporary update of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's character Sherlock Holmes.
