Mars has always been the planet that captured the imagination of SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Thanks to the 14 years of experience from the unwavering passion that SpaceX has, the chances of sending people to Mars has been a more plausible likelihood with cheaper expenses and more practical processes.

Nothing is Impossible with SpaceX

One of the most ambitious plans that Elon Musk unveiled to the public was said during the Code Conference 2016. Musk says during the conference, "I think, if things go according to plan, we should be able to launch people probably in 2024, with arrival in 2025."

He then adds, "The basic game plan is we're going to send a mission to Mars with every Mars opportunity from 2018 onwards. They occur approximately every 26 months. We're establishing cargo flights to Mars that people can count on for cargo."

Twitter also says in one of his social media accounts: "Turns out MCT can go well beyond Mars, so will need a new name..." The new name of SpaceX's supposed Mars transporter system is now called Interplanetary Transport System or the (ITS).

With this, it is very evident that SpaceX together with its owner, Elon Musk is not just more on words, as these words could or would eventually turn into reality.

Elon Musk and SpaceX, the Savior of Humanity?

The name change of the Mars Cargo Transporter (MCT) into the new Interplanetary Transport System (ITS) means a lot because it shows that future manned space missions is not just limited to Mars, but also to other planets, possibly even going beyond the reaches of the solar system.

In the past, USA was battling out the outer space dominion against the USSR. However, what we are experiencing today is more on the rivalries between competing private space companies - SpaceX against Blue Origin.

If all goes well for the highly ambitious but optimistic plans of Elon Musk, then the chances for the survival of the human race would surely increase.
