Apple received tons of complains due to the errors of the iPhone7's Lightning Earpod. According to users, the EarPods stops functioning after about five minutes of inactivity.

The users can still hear the audio and can use its microphone but the buttons will stop working making them unable to adjust the volume, answer a call, or use Siri with the embedded remote.

It is said that the problem also occurs even when using a third-party headset via its Lightning-to-3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter (which is also included in the box). The problem started when the iPhone 7's display is turned off while the headset is connected but not playing any audio.

Tech analysts said the problem is probably caused by the software's power-saving feature that is related to the lightning port. It is said that the USB controller cuts the power to connected devices if it is idle to ensure that it will not drain the phone's battery. It can be temporarily fixed by disconnecting and connecting the headset back, PC-Tablet reported.

While the consumers are starting to dislike the iPhone 7's new EarPods, Apple stated that the new feature allows more space for an advanced Taptic Engine, better cameras and a bigger battery. By removing the 3.5mm headphone jack, the company's engineers were able to design a waterproof chassis. Also, the lightning port can produce a better quality audio and enhanced the device's battery life by 14 percent.

An Apple spokesperson confirmed that they are addressing the issue and working for a software update to fix the glitch, according to Business Insider.

Meanwhile, other iPhone 7 owners also complain about the unusual "hissing" or humming sound on the phone's processor when they are running some heavy applications such as games. The phenomenon has been called the "Hissgate" on social media but Apple has no comment as yet.
