"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will be the last season for the popular vampire series and the end will not be complete without the return of Nina Dobrev. The 27-year-old Canadian-born Bulgarian actress famously headlined all seasons of "The Vampire Diaries" before she left last year to pursue more film roles.

According to FX Newscall, as much as Nina Dobrev wants to return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, she might not be able to because of her various filming commitments. She has been incredibly busy with roles on "The Final Girls", "Let's Be Cops" and "XXX: Return of Xander Cage" in the past few years so she is still not sure if she can return for the final episode.

The news that Dobrev is unable to return to "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 comes a few days after former star Michael Trevino was confirmed to be making a comeback. According to Just Jared Jr, Trevino will still be playing Tyler but will only be in the capacity of a recurring cast member. It is said that in the third episode, Tyler will be facing a mentally-deranged Damon.

"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will air the first of its 16 episodes on Friday, Oct. 21, at 8 pm ET on the CW. As Dobrev's return is not yet sure, HNGN will be posting more updates on "The Vampire Diaries" season 8 in the coming weeks.
