20th Century Fox is believed to be in negotiations with Benicio Del Toro to assume the lead role in "The Predator Reboot" inspired by the famous alien action movie series "The Predator." It was also revealed that this will be directed by Shane Black.

In a report published by The Hollywood Reporter, it was known that the studio and Del Toro have been dancing around the project which is centered on the "The Predator Reboot" for months.  It also claimed that the major challenge that these negotiations is facing is Del Toro's schedule. However, it seems that this had been worked out and an initial start date in February is being ironed out.

A lot of movie experts and entertainment observers believed that 20th Century Fox selected Del Toro for since his character is quite similar to what the role needs. In addition to that, Deadline reported that Del Toro was among the cast of the 1987 original alongside Jesse Ventura, Carl Weathers and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The same report also shared that Del Toro played the role as one of Schwarzenegger's team in the 1987 original where "The Predator Reboot" will be based. His role on the said film however was the first to die in the hands of the Predator.

An IGN report hinted that the upcoming movie is currently titled "The Predator," will be directed by Shane Black and the script written by Fred Dekker. It also claimed that the filming will start next year and the theatrical release to happen in 2018.

Unfortunately, 20th Century Fox chose not to reveal the plot details of the new movie. Rumors however are claiming that the story will definitely be anchored on the character portrayed by Del Toro.

Aside from "The Predator Reboot," a Dark Horizons report confirmed that Del Toro will also return to the sequel of "Sicario" dubbed as "Soldado" which is directed by "Gomorra's" Stefano Sollima.
