Android 7.0 Nougat, released about two weeks ago, is definitely the biggest update that Android users have been waiting. This as the upgrade came with a number of massive improvements that once again made it very much on par with iOS.

In a Forbes report, it was revealed that the Android 7.0 Nougat was designed to help Android phones with a better and longer battery life via the improved Doze mode. The Nougat does this by activating the tweaked Doze mode to allow the phone to burn less battery.

But unlike the Doze mode that was introduced on the Marshmallow, the current version automatically kicks in as soon as the phone's screen turns off and will continue to work even if the phone is moving. The good thing about this version is that it works automatically and no longer requires any activation.

In addition to that, the same report also confirmed that one of the improvements provided by Android 7.0 Nougat is the split screen use. With this feature, Android phone users can now open Google maps and Facebook on a single screen without the need to flip back and forth between the two apps.

To do such trick, all the user should do is open a preferred app on the screen. He must then press as well as hold down the square overview button located at the bottom right so as to select the other apps that will be added to the screen.

In a separate report from Trusted Reviews, it was also found that Android 7.0 Nougat comes with the Data Saver function which is responsible for allowing the user to choose the apps that will a have data access when the phone's screen is off. This is definitely important for it controls the energy consumption of battery-draining apps such as Facebook.

On top of that, the same report also confirmed that the Android 7.0 Nougat will offer a feature that lets its user reply to the notifications directly from the home screen. This can be done by selecting a particular message notification and then tapping the Reply icon. Upon doing such, text box will automatically appear to allow the user to reply without the need to dip directly into the messenger app.

Given all of these improvements along with some of the unknown ones, a lot of tech experts believe that the Android 7.0 Nougat will surely give the upcoming iOS version a strong competition
