Since the news about Nic Pizzolatto and Robert Downey's new HBO series came out, rumors about the cancellation of  True Detective Season 3 has been unstoppable; however, HBO confirmed that the show would not be canceled as of the moment.

Both of the mentioned actors will be working hand-in-hand for the newest HBO drama. It is said that Nic Pizzolatto is the one to produce this upcoming TV series where Robert Downey and his wife Susan, as well as Joe Horacek, will all be part of its main cast according to Variety

In connection with this, fans of  True Detective Season 3 thinks that Nic will not be able to handle the time pressure brought by the new HBO drama series that he will be working with Robert Downey while working for the latest season of True Detective.

On the other hand, these doubts have been cleared by the HBO Programming chief himself, Casey Bloys, according to him,  True Detective Season 3 will still be released as he confirmed in his talk with Television Critics Association's Press that the said franchise is important for the network as reported by Entertainment Weekly.

Furthermore, Bloys also said that they are open to the possibility of someone else writing the scripts while Pizzolatto supervises, this is to cope up with his hectic schedule working with multiple projects at once. The Chief Programming Director said in an interview that "We're open to somebody else writing it and Nic supervising it", adding that  "It's[ITrue Detective] a valuable franchise, it's not dead, we just don't have a take for a third season yet."

With this statement of assurance, fans of  True Detective Season 3  should be rest assured that their most awaited season of  True Detective will be airing soon and will not be called due to rumored reasons.
