These reports surfaced a month after a teaser, centered on the Duke Nukem franchise as part of the genre-defining first-person-shooter game's 20th anniversary celebration, was released by Gearbox Software.

Gearbox however did not reveal any detail regarding the teaser.

Separate reports revealed that the new version will be named as "Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary Edition World Tour".

It is set to feature new episodes along with eight different levels in several locations like Amsterdam, Paris, the Colosseum in Rome and Hollywood.

All episodes were believed to be designed by the original game artists Richard "Levelord" Gray and Allen Blum III.

It is also rumored that a new type of enemy, Firefly, will come into being. Firefly grows in size when it's close enough to attack the player.

The game however has the "Incinerator," a flame thrower-like weapon to fight Firefly off. In addition to that players will encounter a new boss character at the end of level eight.

Aside from that, it is confirmed that Jon St. John took his former role as the voice behind Duke Nukem. He re-recorded all of the lines for the new version Duke Nukem 3D.

Finally, all the eight additional levels now come with new music by Lee Jackson, the original title composer.

Given all of these features, many of the game's fans are getting more excited. However, they still need to wait for the release on Oct. 20 and prepare $20 for them to pre-order a version compatible with Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
