'La La Land': Emma Stone, Ryan Gosling upcoming movie; onscreen chemistry revealed

Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling first worked together in the movie "Crazy, Stupid, Love" five years ago. After the film, they worked together in three more film projects. But it's only in the "La La Land" production that Stone revealed her onscreen chemistry with Gosling.

Stone said she was thrilled to work with her pal Gosling again in the romantic comedy "La La Land" as reported by People.

Aside from "Crazy, Stupid, Love" in 2011, they worked in 2013 Ruben Fleischer's film "Gangster Squad."

Directed by Damien Chazelle, "La La Land" is a romantic musical comedy-drama that premiered in Venice Film Festival last week.

It was about the love story between a jazz musician Sebastian (Gosling) and aspiring actress Mia (Stone), who met and fall in love in Los Angeles.

"It's wonderful to work with somebody you know, trust and respect so much. He's my buddy," Stone said about Gosling as reported by Variety.

"I knew he could sing and dance. Once you've learned to ballroom dance with someone, you've learned everything you need to know."

Chazelle's previous work was the movie "Whiplash" in 2014, which portrayed an aspiring Jazz drummer who studied in Shaffer Conservatory in New York. The movie brought back the memory of a Jazz big band and some composition such as Hank Levy's "Whiplash" that becomes the title and Duke Ellington's "Caravan."

Chazelle's love for Jazz was manifested again in "La La Land," and this time he made the movie as a musical which was inspired by old-fashioned Hollywood musical film.

The plot of "La La Land" quite simple and straightforward as reported by Vanity Fair.

The movie is sparkled with beautiful songs composed by Justin Hurwitz and its poetic lyrics are written by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.

The movie "La La Land" will hit the theaters on Dec. 16.
