It seems that the long wait for "The Winds of Winter" from George R.R. Martin is finally coming to an end. Amazon France has created a placeholder for the sixth book on its site and the date of the book's release has also been listed, which has sent the fans into a tizzy.

The sixth installment's placeholder on the site of Amazon France has become a hot topic of discussion and all are wondering if "The Winds of Winter" would be really released on March 9, 2017, as stated on the site, reports Parent Herald. The news has created a stir among the fans and they are quite excited.

However, a fair number is not buying the claims of the e-store as other major Amazon sites belonging to the UK, US and Germany have not posted any such placeholder on their platform. What has made the fans question the claim, even more, is the fact that Amazon is known to make pages for upcoming books even before their release dates have been announced, claims Winter is Coming. Therefore, many feel that they have jumped the gun or made an announcement by mistake.

Notably, a few days back, the rumors about the book getting released soon had also surfaced. A Reddit user had revealed that Penguin publishing has added a new ISBN number at the ISBN office. Not only this, it was also speculated that the seventh and the sixth installment would be released simultaneously in March 2017.

However, there was no update from George R.R. Martin's side. Neither did he make any announcement through his blog nor did any representative reveal anything about the book. The only thing that the author has said till date is that he is working hard to complete the much-awaited edition. Nonetheless, he has canceled all his programs and is devoting all his time and efforts towards the completion of the book.

Well, everyone knows that the book has been delayed way too much. Even the HBO series has overtaken it, but readers love Martin's fantasy and will not mind much if he takes the time to give them a masterpiece.
