September is up on us and all there is to be known about the next iPhone is known. However, Apple has remained mum about the release date fuelling speculations of delay.

A Nikkei report recently claimed Apple's component manufacturers are trying to fix low-yield rates which could lead to short-supply at launch. Additionally, given that sales volumes are expected to slip year-on-year, an estimated 10 million fewer units will be manufactured.

iPhone 7's release was widely tipped to happen in third week of September with a launch event in the second week.

Noted tipster Evan Blass said Apple will push the device into market on Sept. 16, which means Tim Cook will take to stage on Sept. 7. However, it remains to be seen if Apple will stick to the timeline.

Though its date remains a mystery for now, our predictions for iPhone 7 specifications are likely to come true. Several leaks, of cases and renders, have shown the device will resemble iPhone 6S. Three major changes include absence of headphone jack, rounded antenna lines and significantly bigger camera.

The bigger iPhone 7 Plus is expected to feature dual-camera setup and a GB of RAM more than the 4.7-inch variant. We also believe Apple will introduce a capacitive home button to make the body water-resistant. Wireless charging akin to the Apple Watch is a distinct possibility.

The lack of visible changes in this year's iPhone has been linked to pessimistic sales forecast. However, a new survey from Fluent shows Apple customers may like what is offered. The survey showed high preference for more battery, better processing prowess and more storage. iPhone 7 rumors suggest its internals are significant improvements over last year's device. The survey also showed that headphone jack removal is a move customers may not like.
