Demi Lovato's Christmas surprise from rumored boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama may have been ruined as gossip chatter has revealed the actor may have bought an engagement ring.

According to HollywoodLife.com, Valderrama, 33, bought the ring at Tiffany's in Pasadena, Calif before Thanksgiving for the 21-year-old "Heart Attack" singer. An employee confirmed to the gossip site the ring was purchased at the store, but couldn't confirm it was an engagement ring.

"He chose a really classic, beautiful ring," the employee told HollywoodLife.com "Demi is going to be a happy girl when she gets it. He didn't say what it was for but he was really excited and happy - he seemed like any other guy getting ready to pop the question."

Another source told RadarOnline the alleged ring has a special engraving on the inside saying, "With you and by you always".

If the rumors are true, Lovato and Valderrama would be joining Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union as another newly engaged couple. Wade popped the question on Dec. 20 and Union, of course, said yes to the NBA champion.

"Sooooo this happened...#Yessss," the 41-year-old actress captioned an Instagram post of the ring.

Wade picked out the ring from jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills, who posted a photo of the couple getting engaged on his official Instagram account.

"Ring is gorgeous. Love it! Looks like an excellent color and the clarity seems very good. It is cut beautifully. The setting is a simple platinum band with diamond set, so that the entire focus is on stone. It is quite a large stone but in very good taste. It is not garish. If this stone is an F VVS stone, the ring would run at least $800,000-$1,000,000," jewelry expert Shari Fabrikant of Robert Fabrikant Inc. in NYC told HollywoodLife.com.
