CD Projekt Red is reportedly planning to roll out a Game of the Year Edition for the open-world role playing game "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" around August this year.

The news first broke out when Eurogamer spotted a rating for the said edition on the German ratings board called USK. Moreover, insider resources revealed that the Game of the Year Edition will be made available on August 26. CD Projekt Red, on the other hand, offered no details to confirm the purported release date although the plan is currently "in motion".

"With all the free DLC and updates the game received so far...many gamers have asked us if we're working on some sort of a Game of the Year Edition. I'm happy to confirm - yes, plans are in motion to release such an edition. We'll release more details, including the release date, in the future," said game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz as quoted by Eurogamer.

As reported by Gear Nuke, the Game of the Year Edition will reportedly include the game's full version plus 2 DLC packs (Blood & Wine and Heart of Stone). The report noted that the main game alone takes many hours to finish. Moreover, the DLCs add about 50-hour long gameplay. The "Heart of Stone" expansion sells for $9.99. "Blood & Wine", on the other hand, sets you back $10 more. The bundled price for the two downloadable contents is $24.99.

Since its 2015 release, the game has already sold over 6 million copies and counting. Its record sales surpass earlier feats of the preceding titles of The Witcher series such as "The Witcher" and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings."

Additionally, the game is notable for its multifarious achievements. Garnering more than 250 accolades from the Game of the Year awards, the series is one of gaming history's multi-awarded games. However, the series has finally run its course. As reported by Master Herald, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" will mark the end of Geralt of Rivia's adventure as a Witcher.
