'Outlander' Season 2 finale episode has set the stage for Season 3 perfectly. It is sure that the production team will be facing a lot of challenges, given the way they handled Season 2, but, one can only hope that the upcoming season will be a lot better.

In an interview, producer Ronald D. Moore has revealed quite a bit about the upcoming season. Ronald has said that they are working on the scripts but as there are two season pickups, the production team will accelerate the schedule. Moreover, Season 3 is a traveling show and the team will be travelling from Scotland to Jamaica and North Carolina. So, as far as the shooting elements are concerned, the team will be making long range plans.

During the interview, when asked about Season 2 finale that used the Chamber Brother's 'Time has Come Today,' Ronald stated that it was Matt Roberts and Toni Graphia's idea, who are also the writers. And he also mentioned everyone loved the idea from the beginning itself. Ronald further stated that the title card featuring a scene from The Avengers was simply perfect for the American audience and was their assistant, Marina Campbell's idea.

The book's plot had also posed a challenge for the writers as it involved intense political conspiracies in France. And, the team had to think of ways to bring the storyline together. However, inspite of the struggle, the team succeeded in overcoming and writer Diana Gabaldon was also pretty happy with the final outcome.

The producer has also denied that setting the season's beginning in the 40s was intentionally done to give Tobias Menzies more screen time. He stated that the leap to the 60s would have been a big transition for the audience so they stuck to the 40s setting.
