WWE's SmackDown-RAW split is almost near fueling speculations about looming character makeovers for some wrestlers. New persona gimmicks are needed to keep fans happy and Sheamus may be one of those who will be getting a change of character in the ring soon.

As of now, Sheamus may have already ended his on-screen rivalry with Apollo Crews. With their feud drawing to a close, the wrestler's villainous role could now be abandoned, Ecumenical News reported. The character change is expected to be dramatically important with only two weeks away from the WWE Draft.

Once WWE roster is divided along RAW and SmackDown brands, wrestlers like Sheamus cannot be expected to float around the programming quite easily with WWE veterans getting pressured to do more to maintain each brand after the split. Moreover, adding NXT talents on WWE roster is another imperative for stars who need a change.

To begin with, the change would probably start with his appearance. If Sheamus no longer comes out with a mohawk and beard combination, this startling change of his look would be a strong indication that his heel run comes to an end according to the Inquisitr. The character transformation may also be accompanied with a change in gear and entrance music as these character elements seem interchangeable between a face role and heel role.

Recently, WWE is starting to experiment with Sheamus' persona by making him a face in the United States championship bout where he competed alongside fellow challengers Cesaro, Sami Zayn, and Kalisto against the reigning title holder, Rusev.

It should be noted, however, that getting a face turn isn't the first time for Sheamus. Before his 2014 hiatus due to an injury, the Irishman was generally loved by fans until his in-ring comeback last year along with a new look which continues to sport until now.

Meanwhile, here is the result of the WWE United States Championship title bout in Huntington, West Virginia (courtesy Sportskeeda): Goldust and R-Truth def. Fandango and Tyler Breeze, Darren Young def. WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz (by DQ), Apollo Crews def. Heath Slater with Bo Dallas, Enzo Amore and Big Cass def. The Dudley Boyz, Sasha Banks def. Summer Rae (by submission), and Kane and Big Show def. Erick Rowan and Braun Strowman in a double chokeslam.
