Kanye West has come under fire from the Anti-Defamation League for the alleged anti-Semitic remarks he made during his memorable radio interview with Breakfast Club Power 105.1, in which he said that the Jewish community was richer and more powerful than the African-American community. During his latest radio interview, West delivered a response to his original comment that the League had referred to as "classic anti-Semitism," Pitchfork reports.

In the original Breakfast Club interview, West made the controversial remark, "Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people." The Anti-Defamation League's national director, Abraham H. Foxman, wrote in response on the organization's official website, "There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government. As a celebrity with a wide following, Kanye West should know better. We hope that he will take responsibility for his words, understand why they are so offensive, and apologize to those he has offended."

Instead of apologizing for his comments, however, West addressed the controversy on air with Chicago radio station B96 with a bit of humor, calling his original comment an "ignorant compliment" that had been misconstrued, according to Radio.com.

"I don't know how being told that you have money is like an insult," West said. "That would be like if somebody complimented black guys and said, 'All black guys have big penises.' You don't want to be the black guy who raises his hand and says like, 'That's not true. I have proof!'"

West also mentioned that he's looking forward to recording with Frank Ocean, the Weeknd and James Blake in the near future.
